Current PLANNED list of enhancements for upgrade from version 3.64 to 3.65:

  1. Coupon system
  2. Admin – assign an account the ability to allow multiple logins where necessary, otherwise only allow a single session with all accounts.

HISTORY of DEVELOPMENT

Completed an upgrade – from version 3.63 to 3.64 (Dec 2010):

  1. Improved installer to make adding the ioncube loaders easier.
  2. Minor bug removed from member register section (add.php).
  3. Auto generated passwords removal of the instances of “i” and “L” (upper and lower case), digits one and zero removed
  4. Show who is logged in, separate pages in admin and members sections
  5. JQUERY automated Theme switcher. The default templates (css) are now more integrated within phpAMA, so making it easier to switch colour schemes so all pages take the same branding.
    Admin can use a different theme to the members section.

Completed an upgrade – from version 3.62 to 3.63 (March 2010):

  1. Members: Unsubscribe option for emails (so not included within admin export)
  2. Members: Search – to recurse subfolders in content folder
  3. Functions.php updated to run faster
  4. PayPal IPN – patched – lost duration with new memberships joined via subscription, so expire date not set correctly
  5. Menu – sort listed files in order
  6. Join.html fixed to handle email addresses with hyphen in domain

Completed an upgrade – from version 3.61 to 3.62 (Dec 2009):

  1. Admin: PayPal ability to add trial periods via PayPal subscription

Completed a patch – from version 3.60 to 3.61 (Dec 2009):

Completed an upgrade – from version 3.51 to 3.60 (Nov 2009):

Admin

  • interface revamped and improved with the integration of the JQuery JavaScript interface library, see more here: http://www.dwalker.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=969
  • sort members by date, or name, or email address
  • login (single click) to any user account
  • admin tasks lightened: deleting uncompleted registrations. Now when a member returns to join, having opened a PayPal account, phpAMA will now allow those new members to continue with their original registration using their same email address.

Members

  • Members returning to join, having half completed registration (not paid), can now finish the registration and pay using the same email address. This is relatively intelligent, it will move the start date to the new day when the payment is completed.

Completed an upgrade – from version 3.4 to 3.50 (Jan 2009):

  1. Now compatible with phpBB3
  2. Admin: Added view most popular files within your members area
  3. Admin: New version checker, so admin can see at a glance your phpAMA is up-to-date
  4. Admin: Delete all accounts waiting to be activated
  5. Added new search functionality to members area
  6. Improved members login page for simpler include in other pages, see: phpAMA Admin tips
  7. Updated image gallery functionality
  8. Improved functions.php – now runs faster and now only checks registration every 5 minutes


Completed an upgrade – from version 3.3 to 3.40 (Jan 2008):

  1. Option to allow for subscription membership via PayPal
  2. Easy add Login link – Web 2.0 link which opens a login box within any page.
  3. Now supports multiple currencies, USD, EUR, GBP, etc, see:

  4. Automatically create private folders when a client registers when feature is selected by admin, and populate with pre-defined default files.
  5. Made members login persistent.
  6. Notice to New members – displayed to new members on first login
    (admin can switch on/off).

Completed an upgrade – from version 3.3.0 to 3.32 (May 2007):

  1. Improved adsfeed (runs faster and has NO output to registered domains)
  2. Minor undiscovered security vulnerability addressed.

Completed an upgrade – from version 3.2.6 to 3.3.0 (Mar 2007):

  1. Adverts changed to only display every 120 seconds and not between
    (this is the shortest period in time the adverts will appear, or check your domain is registered [on previous versions this was set to 5 seconds])
  2. PHP tags changed from <? to <?php
    This is to conform with the new PHP standard configuration: short_open_tag = off
  3. Addition of a form within admin to manually add new members
  4. Addition of an array to return member: id, email, name, address, tel, etc…

Image Photo gallery – from version 3.2.5 to 3.2.6 (Dec 2006):

  1. IMAGE Gallery (JS scriptaculous lightbox) added.

Security Patch – from version 3.2.4 to 3.2.5 (Aug 2006):

  1. Potential security vulnerability addressed.

COMPLETED enhancements in upgrade from version 3.2.3 to 3.2.4 (Aug 2006):

  1. Potential critical security exploit addressed.
  2. Changed FAX inputs to MOBILE phone number.
  3. Changed login username labels from “Username” to “Email address”.

COMPLETED enhancements in upgrade from version 3.2.2 to 3.2.3 (June 2006):

  1. Added support for SSL (https://); now you are able to use phpAMA on your secure server (this upgrade removed the warnings of insecure items).

COMPLETED enhancements in upgrade from version 3.2.1 to 3.2.2 (Feb 2006):

  1. Improved admin search for members facility; now able to search on Email address, Name, Address, Post/zip code, Telephone No, and Comments.
  2. Show total number of members (activated and not activated)
  3. Added the ability for members to change their “comments”
  4. Added the ability for members to change their passwords to something memorable
  5. Added forgotten password page for admin.
  6. Patched for the use of &pound; for the improved display of the UK Pound sign £.
  7. Improved admin view of users, NOT-activated members now show in red with “Activate now” link.
  8. Added export members method in CSV format (to enable import member details in a foreign database or to Excel)

COMPLETED enhancements in upgrade from version 3.2 to 3.2.1 (Dec 2005):

  1. Addressed PHP Mail exploit, all input is cleansed to prevent spammers injecting headers into phpAMA (stops any possibility of spammers using it to send their trash).
  2. PHP files have been updated to work correctly with register_globals off when using the newer versions of PHP.
  3. Version numbers are now displayed within admin (this part automatically adds a new table named: pama_config).

COMPLETED enhancements in upgrade from version 3.1 to 3.2 (April 2005):

  1. Integration of phpBB, initial stage – to allow phpAutoMembersArea members to access phpBB, where phpAutoMembersArea is the authentication system for both apps.
  2. Added DELETE option and additional member details to Activate page.

COMPLETED enhancements in upgrade from version 3.0 to 3.1 (Mar 2005):

  1. Added the ability to display links to your multimedia files (.avi, .mpg, .mpeg, .rm, .wmv, .wav, .mp3) enabling downloads by your members only.
  2. Potential critical security exploit addressed.

COMPLETED enhancements in upgrade from version 2.1 to 3.0 (Mar 2005):

  1. Integration of PayPal  – to enable you to take payment from new members,
    you specify the cost and term of membership (month/year)

  2. Automated renewal system – automatically email members x days before renewal is due (integrated with PayPal enabling you to take payment)

COMPLETED enhancements in upgrade from version 2.0 to 2.1 (Jan 2005):

  1. Show last login dates for a selected member
  2. Create private content (allows you to provide individual files for each member if required)
  3. Extract member email addresses (to enable you to send out a newsletter)
  4. New examples on how to securely list your:
       – PDF files, and
       – ZIP files
  5. Extract member email addresses
    (enables the sending of newsletters)
  6. Search for member

COMPLETED enhancements in upgrade from version 1.1 to 2.0 (Oct 2004):

  1. Ban IPs or whole ranges
  2. Monitor who has logged in
  3. forgotten password page
  4. Show last logins for a selected member
